On "Rock N Roll McDonalds"
We all like McDonalds and we all like Rock and Roll, so this seemed a natural fit. Ukulele player/Vocal stylist Mike Roper reports that this was the first Wesley song he heard, and said, "I fell in love, called the station to find out who it was, and immediately went out and bought the record." The funny thing about McDonalds is that because the stores are all chains, the owners have pretty wide latitude in how they outfit them. So some play Top 40 over the speakers, while others do indeed proffer the rock and/or roll of which we are so enamored. McDonalds, more than any other chain restaurant we’ve explored, remains the place to rock.

On Conceiving the Cover
Ours is a slippery arrangement influenced heavily by grease. We chose a down-home arrangement for the song because McDonalds does tend to make you feel at home, if only by means of consistency. That is to say, even if you’re in a far-off land, should you venture into a McDonalds it’s a pretty safe bet that the food will be the same as any other one. Hence the "old familiar" style of music we’ve arranged here. We did lengthen some of Wesley’s lines to make the magic last approximately 20% longer.
