On "Fuck You"
There's something about this song that has the "American Way" written all over it. Somehow, Wesley was able to infuse the pure frustrations of a REALLY bad job with the meaning of "the pursuit of happiness". To me, it's so simple, it's genious! I believe "Fuck You" is an accurate reflection of today's American worker considering the current state of the economy - a state that is either leaving people unemployed or forcing them into a job that is NOT of their choice. Note to reader: I'm very happy with my current job. So don't get any ideas...

On Conceiving the Cover
I don't think I've ever had to do so much acting within one song before. It was very important for me to get into the "role" that Wesley had contrived within the track (which was that of a frustrated worker; not one that was going "Postal", but one that was just fed up with all the B.S.) From there, the music evolved out of a series of looped drum tracks, spliced up vocal takes, some VSTs, and 3 simple guitar chords. Musically, with the exception of the middle, the song is very true to the original as the root note is the same! As far as the chorus goes, I'll admit it... Tupac's "Hit Em Up" had some influence on my performance.
