    On "Eat at Joe's"
When we recorded our "Under the Limbo Stick" album in '96 we listened to Wesley during set up. We gave him a thanks in the record with a request for him to write a song about us. In 2001 he played Reno and we gave him the LAST copy of the record and showed him his thanks and request. At that show he wrote and premiered EAT AT JOE'S. We were shocked. He promised that night that it would be on a future album. Being a man of his word, it's on his "North Carolina Hiway Patrol" CD. Who needs a freakin' Grammy when you've made it on a Wesley Willis CD!

    On Conceiving the Cover
It was obvious to cover our own song. We call our music "Eclectic Americana" which is a melting pot of many American styles of music; blues, funk, rock and Jazz. So we transcribed the lyrics from a bootleg of the show, arranged, recorded and mixed the song in a 8 hour block. Everything is live except for the harp and the background vocals. It was the first time we've recorded together in over three years and has rekindled a fire in us. Thanks Wesley for your gift to us!
