Influences (minus Wesley)
HANK WILLIAMS SR is a big influence.. TOM WAITS, MARILYN
MANSON, ALANIS MORRISETTE is actually a vocal influence.. I love
her voice, DARK FANTASTIC, ALKALINE TRIO is one of my biggest influences
right now.. prob one of the purest of all music being recorded today.. and
SIXTH FLOOR,, oh yeah my industrial side bleeds the likes of BILE, MINISTRY
and THROBBING GRISTLE
On "Vampire Bat"
I kinda created the whole thing and let NOAH add his guitar.. so I guess
I'd say this.. hmm... I wanted to do somethig old school country.. something
HANK WILLIAMS would be proud of so I did the intro.. pretty scratchy old timey
guitar with me singing like some half crazed GOSPEL group at a big tent revival..
then I go into the hip hop beat (my ode to THE FAT BOYS haha) and my MARCY PLAYGROUND
RIP OFF GUITAR RIFF!! my vocals are pretty much me going with the flow of the
music.. kinda letting the HIP HOP mix with the ACOUSTIC stuff and well
that's pretty much how DARK HUMOR happens.. I mean I just kinda let it
take me where it takes me ya know.. .. I wanted some changes here and there..
just to keep it interesting.. SO I dropped everything but a beat ..
this let NOAH play a bit.. so I just kinda sang.. hoping that NOAH could
do somethign with it.. and of course we got the Very KID ROCK guitar
riff which worked so well..THEN going back to the old ways with DARK HUMOR I
had to SCREAM!! pulling out my old influences. SEPULTURA (max cavalara
days) and PANTERA the best I can.. going nuts.. and I have to say I forgot the
ROCK OVER.. part haha sorry I got swept away with the moment!! haha
